Located about 30 miles from Downtown Chicago, the Village of Schaumburg offers a wonderful place to live, work and play. Schaumburg has a population of approximately 75,386 and is the largest center of economic development in Illinois outside of Chicago.
Parks and Recreation
Schaumburg is home to an extensive network of bike trails, forest preserves and natural conservation projects. Parks throughout the area boast sports fields, playgrounds, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, picnic areas, fishing, gardens and skate parks and more.
The Schaumburg Park District is dedicated to serving the community. It maintains more than 1,000 acres of parkland, coordinates countless programs for all ages, hosts annual events and more. Facilities include Water Works, the Park District’s premier indoor water park. 

Housing
Schaumburg has a home to fit every lifestyle, from single-family homes in a wide variety of styles and design, to garden homes and multi-family communities situated in park-like settings, handsome duplexes and townhomes, manor homes and more. Many neighborhoods border parks or nature preserves and are convenient to shopping, transportation and other amenities. As much as Schaumburg is recognized as a center of business and commercial activity, the residents who make their homes here have a genuine sense of community.
Schools
Boasting excellent schools, Schaumburg is also home to Roosevelt University’s Albert A. Robin Campus, serving nearly 3,000 students and is the largest university in the northwest suburbs. Another higher education option in the area is The Illinois Institute of Art.
Transportation
Two major expressways, I-90 and I-290, provide access to Chicago, Rockford and every other major city in the Midwest. They also lead directly to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport located nine miles from Schaumburg. PACE bus services provide transportation in and around town. Metra provides rail transportation between Schaumburg and downtown Chicago.
